Display Session Tab

Use this tab to specify options for users to customize their environment.

The fields in this tab are listed below:

Assistance Level

Specifies the user interface for your OS/400 user. Possible values are:

• SYSVAL--The system value QASTLVL determines which user interface the user is using.
• BASIC--The Operational Assistant user interface.
• INTERMEDIATE--The system user interface.
• ADVANCED--The expert system user interface.

Limit Capabilities

Specifies whether the user has limited capabilities. Possible values are:

• PARTIAL--The user can not change the initial program or current library.
• YES--The user can not change the initial menu, initial program, or current library. The user can not run commands from the command line.
• NO--The user is not limited.

User Options

Specifies a list of options for users to customize their environment. Possible values are:

• CLKWD--Keywords are shown when a CL command is displayed.
• EXPERT--More detailed information is shown when the user is defining or changing the system using edit or display object authority.
• HLPFULL--UIM online help is to be displayed on a full screen or a window.
• PRTMSG--A message is sent to the user when a spooled file is printed.
• ROLLKEY--The opposite action from the system default for roll keys is taken.
• NOSTSMSG--Status messages sent to the user are not shown.
• STSMSG--Status messages sent to the user are shown.

Keyboard Buffering

Specifies the keyboard buffering value that is used when a job is initialized for this user. Possible values are:

• SYSVAL--The system value QKBDBUF determines the keyboard buffering value for this user.
• YES--The type-ahead and attention-key buffering options are both on.
• NO--The type-ahead and attention-key buffering options are both off.
• TYPEAHEAD--The type-ahead option is on, but the attention-key buffering option is not.

Attention Key Handling Program

Program

If *SYSVAL is selected, the fully-qualified, integrated file system path name of the program associated with the ATTN key (the Attention Key Handling Program) is specified. The system value QATNPGM determines the user's Attention Key Handling Program. If *NONE is selected, the fully-qualified, integrated file system path name of the program associated with the ATTN key (the Attention Key Handling Program) is specfied. When NONE is selected, no Attention Key Handling Program is used. If *ASSIST is selected, the fully-qualified, integrated file system path name of the program associated with the ATTN key (the Attention Key Handling Program) is specified. When ASSIST is selected, the Operational Assistant program is used. You can also manually set the fully-qualified, integrated file system path name of the program you want to associate with the ATTN key (the Attention Key Handling Program) by typing the file system path name into the text box.

Library

If *LIBL is specified, the library list is used as the location for the Attention Key Handling Program. If *CURLIB is specified, the current library is used as the location for the Attention Key Handling Program.
