User Tab

Use this tab to specify information about the user, such as the userid, UID, and home directory.

The fields in this property sheet are listed below:

UID Mode

Specifies the UID mode. You can choose from the following:

Choose Next Free Check Box

Select to assign the next available UID number to the userid.

Set Check Box

Select to assign a UID number to the userid.

Master Endpoint Check Box

Select to assign the same UID number for an account.

Choose Next Free: From

Indicates the next available start value for the UID number.

Choose Next Free: To

Indicates the ending value for the next available UID number.

Set

Select to assign a UID number to the userid.

Master Endpoint

Select to assign the same UID number for an account that a user has on another UNIX endpoint. By using the same UID number for accounts, you ensure that the same privileges are consistent on all directories.

Primary Group

Specifies the primary group to which the user belongs. The file and directories that the user creates will belong to this group. To search for available groups, click the Search button.

Shell

Specifies the user’s UNIX login shell that is used. For example, enter one of the following as your shell type:

Shell Type Enter

C shell /bin/csh

Bourne shell /bin/sh

Korn shell /bin/ksh

Description

Specifies a short description of the user account.

Mail Alias Inhibited

Use this check box to prohibit the use of the account's mail alias.

Mail Alias Value

Specifies the mail alias of this account. The alias is stored in mail.aliases map.

Home Directory

Specifies the default login directory of the user.

Rule String: /home_directory_name/%AC%

Create Home Directory Check box

Use this check box to specify whether or not to create the Home Directory entered in the Home Directory field on the UNIX server.

Remote Check Box

Use this check box to specify whether or not to create the Remote Server.

Remote Server*

Specifies the server name hosting the Remote Home Directory.

This is a required field.

Mount Options

Specifies the mount options of the Remote Home Directory. Possible values are:

-rw read and write access

-ro read only access

Remote Home Directory*

Specifies the directory of the Remote Home Directory.

This is a required field.

Create Remote Directory Check box

Use this check box to specify whether or not to create the Remote Home directory specified in the Directory field. The directory is created on the server specified in the Server field.

When Deleting Account

Specifies whether or not to delete the local and/or remote Home Directory and its contents while deleting an account.
