Endpoint Tab

Use this tab to specify which stand-alone UNIX system you want to register.

The fields in this property sheet are listed below:

Endpoint Name

Specifies the name of the NIS/NIS+ domain that you want to discover.

Size/Type: 128 characters

Restrictions: Commas and semi-colons are not allowed.

This field is required

Domain

Specifies the NIS/NIS+ domain.

This is a required field.

Host Name

Specifies the name of the UNIX server hosting the NIS/NIS+ domain that you want to discover.

Size/Type: 128 characters

Restrictions: This field cannot contain special characters such as / \ [ ]

This is a required field.

Description

Specifies a short description of the UNIX endpoint. This field can be changed after the endpoint is registered.

Use Unicenter Security

Enables Unicenter security. When you enable Unicenter security, the CAUTIL command executes and populates the Unicenter Security database with the account information.

Unicenter User Nodal

Adds the account as a nodal account.

Unicenter User Global

Adds the account as a global account.

Exclude Built In Accounts

Specifies that you want to exclude a range of built-in accounts. The UID value for built-in accounts range from 0 – 32767. The range is determined by the Min UID and Max UID values.

Minimium UID to Exclude

Specifies the minimum UID value that will be excluded if the Exclude Built In Accounts box is checked.

Maximum UID to Exclude

Specifies the maximum UID value that will be excluded if the Exclude Built In Accounts box is checked.

Allow Non US-ASCII Characters

Select this option to allow non US-ASCII characters in the account name, group name, NIS Netgroup name, and password fields.

Use a specific Character Set

Check this box to use the UTF-8 Character Set encoding between the Provisioning Server and the UNIX Remote Agent instead of the one used by the Provisioning Server.

From the drop-down menu, choose the Character Set that is used on the end-point system:

Allow Blank Password

Check this option to allow the specification of a blank password. Leave this option unchecked to prevent a blank password from being specified.

Default Primary Group

Specifies the default primary group for the endpoint.

When Deleting Account

Specifies whether or not to delete the local and/or remote Home Directory and its contents while deleting an account. You can choose from the following:

Explore Timeout

Specifies the amount of time (in seconds), before CAM/CAFT times out for an Explore operation.

Operation Timeout

Specifies the amount of time (in seconds), before CAM/CAFT times out for a basic operation.

Default Account Template

Specifies the default account template domain of the endpoint. The default account template is used to create new accounts on the endpoint. To select an account template, click the Search button to add a new default account template.
