In general, CA Identity Manager tasks trigger CA Identity Manager events. For example, to create a user, an administrator selects a Create User task. When this task is initiated, the event CreateUserEvent is triggered.
The following diagram is an example of a simple workflow process (the predefined process CreateUserApproveProcess) as it appears in WorkPoint Designer. This process is invoked by a CreateUserEvent if the Create User task is under workflow control.
The process includes a manual activity, Approve Create User, which corresponds to a CA Identity Manager workflow approval task of the same name. The participant must approve or reject the approval task, typically by clicking a button in the User Console, before the task under workflow control can run to completion.
