Specify how the question and answer data is stored in a user's profile, as follows:

Strings such as ? or |. The default string is ?. When question and answer are stored together--applicable only when you selected multi-valued attribute or single-valued attributes as the storage--this delimiter separates the question and answer. |
Depending on your selection for storage (multi-valued, single value, or separate attributes), you have to define the physical and logical attributes in the appropriate fields.
Multi-valued Attribute Storage

The number of questions and answers that you want users to enter on their profile. The number of questions and answers should be equal to or greater than the number of questions you want them to actually answer when verifying their identity. |

After filling in the fields, click Generate Attributes to produce the logical attributes based on the number and names and you provided. When generating the logical attributes, CA Identity Manager automatically adds vertical bars ( | ) and a number qualifier to give each attribute a unique name.

Pattern for question physical attribute |
The pattern you assign to a question physical attribute. Select a pattern and a user profile attribute number to start at. This field only appears if the user directory has more than one attribute on the user profile that are the same except for a particular number. CA Identity Manager checks the user attributes in the directory and searches for a pattern. You can use this field to automatically map the question and answer pair to physical attributes. If this field does not appear, you still have to manually select a physical attribute for each question and answer pair that appear after you click Generate Attributes. |
